The Short Version
Getta Hall Pass™ has no accounts, so there is no account to close. Everything you create lives on your own phone, and one button inside the app erases all of it. You do not need to contact us or wait for us to process anything.
How to Delete Everything
Make sure you are connected to the internet.
Open the Getta Hall Pass™ app.
Go to the You tab.
Scroll to the bottom and tap Erase everything and start over.
Confirm by tapping Erase everything.
That happens immediately. There is no waiting period and no way for us to undo it, so please be sure before you confirm.
What Gets Deleted
On your phone, permanently:
Your name, avatar emoji, and color
Everyone you are paired with
Every pass you have ever sent or received, including titles, details, notes, conditions, and replies
Your settings, your blocked list, and your saved emoji and color choices
On our server, permanently:
Your pairing code and the anonymous registration that goes with it, so your old code stops working for everyone
Any message still waiting to be delivered to your phone
After erasing, the app starts fresh as though it had just been installed. If you keep using it, your phone registers again as a brand new anonymous phone with a brand new pairing code, unconnected to the old one.
Deleting the App Instead
Uninstalling Getta Hall Pass™ removes everything stored on your phone, because that is the only place it lives.
One thing stays behind on our server: the anonymous registration for that phone, which is a random identifier and a random pairing code. It holds no name, no email address, no phone number, and none of your passes.
Tap Erase everything and start over before you uninstall, and that registration goes with it immediately. It is the only way to remove it on the spot, and it takes about ten seconds.
If you have already uninstalled, the registration expires on its own. Nothing needs to be requested and nothing needs to be done:
Any message still addressed to that phone is discarded after fourteen days.
The registration itself is deleted automatically after twelve months without use.
The same applies if you install the app again. A fresh install signs in as a brand new anonymous phone rather than reclaiming the old one, and the old registration runs out on that same twelve-month clock.
We do not delete registrations on request, and we want to be clear about why. There is no account here, so there is no way for us to check that a registration belongs to the person asking about it. If we deleted one because somebody emailed us a pairing code, then anyone who had ever seen your code could wipe out your setup and cut you off from the people you are paired with. Refusing those requests protects you, and the automatic expiry above means nothing is left behind anyway.
Things We Cannot Delete
A pass you sent to another person is stored on their phone, the same way their passes are stored on yours. When you erase your data, your copy disappears, but theirs does not. We have no access to anyone's phone and cannot reach into it.
If you would prefer that person no longer have a record of your passes, you will need to ask them to delete it. In the app, removing a person deletes every pass between the two of you from your own phone.
The entries/passes you added to your personal calendar.
Asking Us
For any question or request about your data, write to us at support@gettahallpass.com.
Please understand what we can and cannot do here. We hold no personal information about you, so there is nothing for us to look you up by, and we cannot verify that any particular registration belongs to you. If the app is still on your phone, the Erase everything and start over button already does more than we could do for you, and it does it instantly. If the app is gone, the automatic expiry described above takes care of it.
We delete your email address and any other personally identifiable information from our support inbox within 30 days.
